Tomorrow's (11/7) meeting of the Gateway Friday Biomedical Club will focus on learning more about different career paths open to research scientists. Our club leader, Dr. Ian Stokes-Rees from Harvard Medical School, will share more of his experiences as an academic scientist.
The second club guest will be Dr. Albert Hsia from Synta Pharmaceuticals, an emerging biopharmaceutical firm based in Lexington, MA. Dr. Hsia has been with Synta since its creation in 2002 (he was the company's third employee), and so he will have some interesting stories to tell about life in a biotech startup company. [Dr. Hsia also happens to be Dr. Wu's first cousin!]
